You have finished the following tutorial:
Step 1: Start the LoadGen Configurator
- Start the LoadGen Configurator from the Windows Start Menu.
- Chose Yes to allow the app to make changes to your device.
Step 2: To update or not: that's the question
- Every time you start a LoadGen Application, the application will check if there is a new version available.
- If there is a new version, please choose Download & Install so you can benefit from the latest features and improvements.
- You can view the release changes in the changelog pane before downloading.
- When the LoadGen Configurator is ready, the LoadGen AutoUpdate tool will automatically start the new version.
- If you see the Welcome page, please click Next.
Step 3: Download and Installation of the update
- The download status window will open and will show you the progress of the update.
- After the successful download of the update, the LoadGen AutoUpdater will process the file and update the LoadGen applications on your machine.
Step 4: The LoadGen Configurator Welcome Page
- Once the update is completed the LoadGen Configurator Start Window will open.
- You need to enter the serial number you have received from LoadGen Support in order to start working with the LoadGen Cloud. Add the serial number to the serial text box, and add your email address and company name.
- After you have added your information Start.
- Your serial number, email address, and company name will be validated online and the LoadGen Configurator will be prepared for the LoadGen Cloud.
- If you don’t have a valid subscription or license yet, please contact us.
Step 5: Download and install prerequisites
- Click the Download & Install button
- Make sure you have the VC Runtime libraries installed.
- Make sure you have read and understood the System Requirements of LoadGen.
Step 6: Choose your Target Environment
- Choose your target environment; you can choose between the following targets:
- Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop:
Test a Published Desktop or Published Application; you can also use this target to test against the Citrix Cloud or Azure Citrix Express services. - Microsoft Remote Desktop Services:
Test a Microsoft Desktop or Published Application; you can also use this target to test against Azure RemoteApp, VMware Horizon, and to start a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) file. - Fat Client:
Test a standard workstation or server, right from the console session. We support Windows 7 and higher and Windows 2008 R2 and higher.
- Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop:
- If you have chosen your correct target environment name your test in the How do you want to call this test? field.
