Citrix Sessions keeps giving message Unsupported function

Problem

When you start a load test, the Citrix Sessions keeps giving a message Unsupported function.

Solution

When the LoadGen Agent logs on to the desktop user, it's possible that the Citrix processes are started in a normal context. LoadGen will start the Citrix processes in an elevated context, which results in a conflicting state between the different Citrix processes. 

 

Windows 10

  1. Open the Task Manager.
  2. Go to Startup.
  3. Find all the Citrix processes.
  4. Right-click the Citrix process and press Disable.

Windows Server and Windows 10 multi-user

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Remove the Citrix items from the following locations:
    1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
