This update introduces new enhancements alongside critical bug fixes, improving stability, usability, and overall performance across the LoadGen Suite.
Our focus this quarter has been on ensuring smoother functional testing, refining the Director’s workload management, improving Studio’s usability, and enhancing reliability in both Core and Cloud Agents.
New features and enhancements
LoadGen Director
- Rearrange the dashboard while running a test
You can now rearrange elements of the Director dashboard even while a test is in progress, giving you greater flexibility in customizing your view of real-time test data. - SUT XML improvements
Enhancements have been made to support better handling of SUT XML files, increasing stability and reliability when working with SUT configurations.
LoadGen Studio
- Pause with a variable time
Studio now supports pausing workflows using a variable time, allowing for dynamic test flows that adjust to runtime conditions. - Variable DateTime support
You can now add DateTime.Now as a variable, making it easier to incorporate time-based validations and logic in your workloads. - Functional multi-select of blocks
Multiple blocks can now be selected and managed simultaneously in Studio, streamlining test building. - Visual indication of browser installation
A clearer progress indication is now available during browser installation, ensuring transparency in setup. - New variable type for resource names
Studio now allows adding variables for resource names (via if and environment), enhancing flexibility in dynamic testing scenarios.
LoadGen Agent
- Browser title improvement
During webtests, the Core Agent will now include the test user’s name in the browser title, simplifying troubleshooting and identification of sessions.
Bug Fixes
LoadGen Director
- Fixed an error where recordings in WebTesting after conversion could not be executed.
- Resolved issues with automation file saving after conversion in Studio initiated by the Director.
- Invalid character issue in file existence checks after conversion is now resolved.
- Fixed an error triggered when using a + or - sign in multiple forms after conversion.
- Addressed an error where Functional testcases could not be created, and an error message appeared.
- Corrected behavior where switching to Load Scenario and checking users reset user profiles unexpectedly.
- SUT counters are now properly collected even if one machine fails.
- Fixed errors occurring when creating new profiles and selecting “No” when prompted to load a new canvas.
- SUT profile agent mapping bug fixed—agents now map correctly instead of 1:1 resets.
- Dashboard not updating after timed scenarios has been resolved.
- Fixed incorrect session time reporting in the results pane.
- Email sending bug fixed—variables now translate correctly.
- Restored functionality where WebTests failed to start in the last release.
LoadGen Studio
- Fixed an issue where OCR regions jumped to Custom when copied.
- Initialize block not saved into DUAF code has been corrected.
- Restored scrollbars—the repaint event now fires as expected.
- Fixed crash where Save and Close resulted in “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.”
- OCR actions in Citrix that caused hangs are now stable.
- Restored support for special characters in Free Text.
- Fixed bug where OCR validation in Functional tests was not working correctly.
- Corrected OCR failures on Windows Server 2022.
- Fixed behavior where items under not found/found were removed when changing the validation type.
- Removed unnecessary Next button on demo flow conclusion page.
- WebTesting error messaging improved when browsers could not be downloaded.
- Fixed an issue where uploading new workloads to the exchange failed.
- Restored drag-and-drop functionality for blocks.
- Fixed default state where copied blocks appeared disabled.
- Corrected block playback stopping in the Windows Event block.
- Ghost blocks in the Recorder no longer appear incorrectly in Studio.
- Fixed bug where moving applications caused blocks to re-enable unexpectedly.
- Corrected FAT results displaying empty.
- Fixed issue where cmd.exe or powershell.exe arguments failed in FAT.
- Resolved bug where manual folder addition broke IO Write.
LoadGen Agent
- Fixed bug where manual service installation did not set the checkbox interact correctly.
- Temp folder creation by the WebRecorder in C:\Program Files has been addressed.
- Fixed rights issues on first-time Core Agent startup.
- Resolved a crash where the Core Agent stopped when pressing reset in Director.
- Fixed bug where Citrix hung when running OCR actions.
LoadGen Analyzer
- Fixed an exception when 34 or more tabs were open simultaneously.
- Corrected behavior where command line parameters /nvl and /nvc were not working.
