Main: Home
Overview
Use this page to review live load-testing and monitoring KPIs and open the relevant module page. Home is the Dashboard you land on after signing in: it summarizes how many virtual users are active, whether a load test is currently running, how many runs have been recorded, and how many agents are registered, all without opening any module directly.
Home sits at the top of the navigation, and the activity it summarizes is created elsewhere. Load tests are started from Testing: Run Test and recorded in Testing: Test Runs and Testing: Active Test; agents are registered under Configuration: LoadGen Agents: Full Agents; End-to-End Monitoring profiles are configured under End-to-End Monitoring: Profiles; and the credentials both use are set up under Configuration: Credential Profiles. Home reads those records back as counts and status, and its links open straight into the pages that produced them.
On this page you see four top-line KPI cards, a summary card for each licensed module with its own metrics and shortcut links, and a banner that surfaces a Credential Profile nearing expiry before it breaks a test or monitor. An unlicensed module shows a promotional card instead of live data, and a module whose data the API could not read shows a short failure note rather than a false zero.
Key concepts
- Active Test - The load test currently executing against a system under test; its elapsed time and active-user count update while it runs. (related: Testing: Active Test)
- Agent - A machine registered with LoadGen that generates load or carries out test steps on the platform's behalf. (related: Configuration: LoadGen Agents: Full Agents)
- Credential Profile - A stored set of authentication details, such as a bearer token, that tests or monitors use to sign in to a system under test; each profile has an expiry date. (related: Configuration: Credential Profiles)
- Monitoring Profile - A configured End-to-End Monitoring check that the platform runs on a schedule to verify a user journey or endpoint is working. (related: End-to-End Monitoring: Profiles)
- Module license - The entitlement that determines whether a platform module, such as Load Testing or E2E Monitoring, is active for your organization; an unlicensed module shows a promotional card instead of live data. (related: Infrastructure: Licensing)
When to use it
- At the start of a session, to see whether a load test or monitoring profile is currently running before you start new work.
- To check how many agents are registered and gauge how close current usage is to your licensed concurrent-user limit.
- To catch a credential that is about to expire before it breaks a scheduled test or monitor.
- To jump directly into Load Testing or E2E Monitoring results without navigating through the full menu.
- To get a quick read on E2E Monitoring health (success rate, sessions, alerts) without opening its dashboard.
Before you begin
- You are signed in with a role Home opens for; a role refused access to a module's data sees a No access note on that module's tiles instead of counts.
- At least one Load Testing or E2E Monitoring module license is active, or its card shows a promotional prompt instead of live metrics; see Infrastructure: Licensing.
- Agents are registered and have connected at least once under Configuration: LoadGen Agents: Full Agents if you expect the Agents count to be non-zero.
- Credential Profiles used by your tests or monitors are set up under Configuration: Credential Profiles so expiring ones can be flagged here.
Common workflows
Check whether a load test is currently running
Persona: Load-test operator
- Review the Test Status KPI card on Home.
- Expect: The card shows Running with an Elapsed subtext if a load test is active, or a different status with 0 Active Users if none is running.
- Select View active test → on the Active Users card.
- Expect: The Active Test page opens, showing live detail for the test named in the subtext.
Verify: You land on Active Test with the same test name and status Home displayed, confirming the dashboard figures were current.
Resolve an expiring credential flagged on Home
Persona: Admin
- Read the Credentials expiring banner at the top of Home.
- Expect: The banner names the credential, its type, the account it signs in as, and how many days remain before it expires.
- Open Configuration: Credential Profiles from the left-hand menu and reissue the named credential.
- Expect: A new credential is issued for that profile, replacing the one nearing expiry.
- Return to Home.
- Expect: The Credentials expiring banner for that credential no longer appears once it is outside the expiry warning window.
Verify: Home no longer shows a Credentials expiring banner for the reissued credential, and tests or monitors that use it keep authenticating successfully.
Steps
Step 1
Open Home from the left-hand navigation.
Expected result: The Dashboard loads with a Welcome back greeting, four top-line KPI cards (Active Users, Test Status, Total Runs, Agents), and a summary card for each licensed module, here Load Testing and E2E Monitoring.
This is the default landing page after sign-in, giving you an at-a-glance view of what's running before you drill into a specific module.
- The Credentials expiring banner surfaces any credential nearing its expiry date before it breaks a running test or monitor.
- The colored top border on each module card (red for Load Testing, blue for E2E Monitoring) identifies which licensed module the card summarizes.
Column reference
| Column | What it shows | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Active Users | Shows how many virtual users the currently running load test is simulating right now; 0 means no test is executing. The same figure is mirrored inside the Load Testing module card below. | A non-zero value together with Test Status = Running means a load test is actively generating traffic; the subtext names the running test. |
| Test Status | Shows Running while a load test is actively executing; the Elapsed subtext tracks how long the current run has been active. | Elapsed grows for as long as the run stays Running; a long elapsed time on a run you did not expect to still be active is worth checking in Testing: Active Test. |
| Total Runs | Total number of load test runs recorded all time for this appliance; use it to gauge overall testing activity. The same figure is mirrored inside the Load Testing module card below. | The count only grows; it does not reset per period. |
| Agents | Number of agents registered with the platform; compare it against your license's concurrent-user capacity to judge whether you have enough agent capacity to reach it. | 0 means no agents are registered yet; a load test cannot generate load without at least one connected agent. |
| Last Run | Shows the outcome of the most recently completed load test run, helping you spot a failed run without opening Test Runs. | Completed means the run finished; check Testing: Test Runs for detail on runs that stopped early or failed. |
| Status | Module-scoped twin of the top Test Status KPI, showing whether a load test is currently running. | Reads the same as the Test Status card above; useful when scanning the Load Testing card on its own. |
| Licensed capacity | States the maximum concurrent virtual users your license allows for Load Testing; compare it to Active Users to see your headroom. | If Active Users is consistently near this number across runs, you are close to your licensed capacity. |
| Active Profiles | Number of End-to-End Monitoring profiles currently configured and active; 0 means none are set up or enabled yet. | 0 alongside a licensed module means no monitoring profile has been created yet; see End-to-End Monitoring: Profiles. |
| Success Rate | Percentage of monitored sessions that completed successfully. | 0.0% together with 0 Active Profiles means there is no monitoring data yet rather than failing checks; once profiles run, a falling rate means checks are failing more often. |
| Sessions Today | Number of monitoring sessions the platform has run today across all active profiles. | 0 with licensed profiles configured can mean none have run yet today or none are scheduled to run on this day. |
| Alerts Today | Number of alerts raised by E2E Monitoring today. | A non-zero count means an alert fired for a monitoring profile today; check Alerting: Triggers for what notified you. |
| Credentials expiring notice | Flags a Credential Profile nearing its expiry date, naming the credential, its type, the account it authenticates, and how many days remain, so you can reissue it before a test or monitor fails to authenticate. | The fewer days remaining, the sooner you should reissue the credential under Configuration: Credential Profiles. |
Controls reference
Close
Dismisses the Credentials expiring banner from view.
When to use: After you've noted which credential is expiring, or if you plan to handle it later.
Side effects: Read-only: hides the banner on this page; it does not renew, reissue, or change the expiry date of the credential itself.
View active test →
Opens the currently running load test.
When to use: When Test Status shows Running and you want live detail on that test.
Side effects: Read-only navigation to Testing: Active Test; no data changes.
View all →
Opens the full load test run history.
When to use: When you want to see every historical run, not just the all-time count shown here.
Side effects: Read-only navigation to Testing: Test Runs; no data changes.
Manage →
Opens the agents management page for your registered agents.
When to use: When you want to inspect, add, or remove agents to change your available load capacity.
Side effects: Read-only navigation; any capacity change happens on the agents page itself, not from this click.
View all results →
Opens the full Load Testing run history.
When to use: To review or compare past load test runs beyond the Total Runs count shown on this card.
Side effects: Read-only navigation to Testing: Test Runs; no data changes.
Open Dashboard →
Opens the End-to-End Monitoring dashboard with detailed monitoring charts and history.
When to use: When you want more than the four summary tiles shown here, for example trends over time.
Side effects: Read-only navigation to End-to-End Monitoring: Dashboard; no data changes.
View Profiles
Opens the list of configured End-to-End Monitoring profiles.
When to use: When Active Profiles shows 0 and you need to create or review a monitoring profile.
Side effects: Read-only navigation to End-to-End Monitoring: Profiles; no data changes.
Verify the result
Home loads with the Dashboard heading and four KPI cards (Active Users, Test Status, Total Runs, Agents) across the top. Below them, a card appears for each licensed module, here Load Testing (red header) and E2E Monitoring (blue header), each with its own metrics and a shortcut link such as View all results → or Open Dashboard →. If a Credential Profile is close to expiring, a Credentials expiring banner appears above the KPI cards naming it. If an expected module card is missing, check that the module is licensed; if a tile shows -- instead of a number, your role was refused access to that read.
Troubleshooting
- Symptom: A module card you expect to see, such as Load Testing or E2E Monitoring, is missing from Home. Fix: the module isn't licensed for your organization; check Infrastructure: Licensing or confirm with your administrator.
- Symptom: A KPI tile shows -- instead of a number. Fix: the read for that tile failed or your role was refused access to it; a short No access or Could not load note appears alongside it, so check your permissions under Operations: Permissions.
- Symptom: Agents shows 0 even though you expect registered agents. Fix: confirm agents are registered and have connected at least once under Configuration: LoadGen Agents: Full Agents; the count only reflects agents the dashboard could read.
- Symptom: The Active Users subtext repeats the word Test: twice. Fix: this is a cosmetic display issue on the current build; the running test name that follows is still correct.
- Symptom: The Credentials expiring banner reappears after you close it. Fix: closing the banner only hides it for this view; reissue the named credential under Configuration: Credential Profiles to clear the warning for good.
- Symptom: Active Profiles and Success Rate both show 0 under E2E Monitoring even though the module is licensed. Fix: no monitoring profile has been created yet; select View Profiles and set one up under End-to-End Monitoring: Profiles.
