LoadGen Cloud has reached End of Life
LoadGen Cloud has reached end of life and is no longer being developed or sold. We have shifted our focus to the LoadGen Load Testing and Monitoring Platform, our next-generation solution that brings load and performance testing, end-to-end and uptime monitoring, API testing, and user-experience analytics together in a single platform (https://www.loadgen.com).
This article explains what is changing, what replaces LoadGen Cloud, and how to move forward.
What this means
- LoadGen Cloud is no longer receiving new features. The quarterly LoadGen Cloud release notes in this section remain available for historical reference.
- All ongoing development now goes into the LoadGen Load Testing and Monitoring Platform.
- Existing LoadGen Cloud customers are encouraged to plan their migration to the new platform.
What replaces it: the LoadGen Load Testing and Monitoring Platform
The LoadGen Load Testing and Monitoring Platform is a browser-based platform that combines everything LoadGen Cloud offered, and much, much more, in one web interface:
- Load and Performance testing: simulate realistic user load and measure how your environment behaves under stress.
- End-to-End and uptime monitoring: continuously run user journeys, health checks, and availability probes, with alerting the moment something breaks.
- API testing: automate functional testing of your APIs with reusable flows, environments, and schedules.
- SessionSight: capture real user sessions, analyze behavior, and track compliance against your service level objectives.
- Insight: application performance analytics and usage monitoring solution that provides deep visibility into how your applications and infrastructure perform in real-time.
- Uptime Monitoring: Manage service disruptions efficiently with deep filters, detailed logs, and dependency-aware root-cause analysis - pre-baked maintenance windows pause alerting cleanly.
Where it runs: on-premises or hosted by LoadGen
Unlike LoadGen Cloud, the new platform gives you full control over where it runs.
Host it yourself (on-premises). The platform ships as the LoadGen Appliance, a pre-configured virtual machine that runs all platform services in containers. You can deploy it on the virtualization environment you already use, including:
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- VMware
- Oracle (OVA)
- Microsoft Azure
- and other common virtualization and cloud environments
Or let LoadGen host it for you. Prefer a fully managed, LoadGen-hosted environment? We can run the platform for you so you can focus on testing and monitoring rather than infrastructure.
