We are proud to announce the Q2 2026 release of LoadGen.
This release continues the evolution of the LoadGen Suite while also preparing customers for the next generation LoadGen Platform. It includes important reliability improvements across LoadGen Director, LoadGen Studio, LoadGen Agent, and the FunctionalEngine, with a strong focus on Citrix execution, Core Agent behavior, WebTesting, OCR validation, C# workload execution, and day-to-day stability.
Alongside this release, we also want to highlight the future direction of LoadGen. LoadGen Cloud has reached End of Life and is no longer being developed or sold. All ongoing platform development now focuses on the new LoadGen Platform: The All-in-One Platform for Performance Testing, Monitoring & Analytics.
Important lifecycle update
LoadGen Director and LoadGen Analyzer remain supported as part of the on-premises LoadGen Suite, but they will reach end of support on December 31, 2027.
LoadGen Studio remains fully supported. Studio continues to be the authoring environment for creating user simulations and functional test workloads, and its future continues with the next generation of LoadGen Studio.
Customers using LoadGen Cloud are encouraged to plan their migration to the new LoadGen Platform. The new platform brings load and performance testing, end-to-end monitoring, uptime monitoring, API testing, analytics, SessionSight, Insight, and service-level management together in one browser-based platform.
The LoadGen Platform can be deployed on-premises by using the LoadGen Appliance, or hosted by LoadGen as a managed environment.
The new LoadGen Platform
The new LoadGen Platform is designed as a single platform for performance testing, monitoring, and analytics.
It brings together the following modules:
- Load & Performance Testing: Create, schedule, run, and analyze realistic user load tests for Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, Omnissa Horizon, Microsoft RDS, and web applications.
- End-to-End Monitoring: Continuously monitor real user journeys and business-critical workflows using scheduled synthetic sessions, KPI dashboards, and agent fleet management.
- API Testing: Build and run API flows, manage environments and authentication profiles, and validate API behavior through reusable test definitions.
- Uptime Monitoring: Monitor availability, checks, incidents, and maintenance windows to help detect service disruptions quickly.
- Analytics & AI: Use cross-feature dashboards, health indicators, and AI-assisted insights to understand platform behavior and system performance.
- SessionSight: Capture and analyze real user behavior with dashboards, visitors, heatmaps, replay, and journey analysis.
- LoadGen Insight: Collect application and infrastructure performance data from machines and machine groups to understand real-time usage and health.
- Service Levels: Manage SLOs and SLAs using monitoring, uptime, and load testing data, including error budgets, burn-rate alerts, audit-grade history, and public status pages.
- Functional & Automated Testing: Continue to automate functional validation and user workflows using LoadGen Studio and the FunctionalEngine.
We recommend that customers start evaluating the new LoadGen Platform and, where possible, run it in shadow mode alongside existing LoadGen Suite environments. This allows teams to compare results, validate workflows, and plan their transition at their own pace.
LoadGen Director
- New workload publishing behavior: When a Studio Platform profile does not yet have a workload, LoadGen now supports creating a new workload and publishing it to the platform, improving the first-time profile setup experience.
- FunctionalEngine C# compilation: Fixed an issue where C# scripts did not compile correctly in the FunctionalEngine.
- Branch merge stabilization: Merged legacy development changes into the main branch to align code paths and reduce divergence between builds.
- Citrix Enhanced UAI connectivity: Resolved an issue where Citrix Enhanced profiles did not connect correctly to UAI.
- Citrix timeout handling: Improved Citrix timeout behavior to reduce premature connection or execution failures.
- SyncOnPixel diagnostics: Added additional debug logging around SyncOnPixel to make troubleshooting image and pixel synchronization issues easier.
- Director loop phase stability: Fixed an issue where Invoke could hang during Director LoopPhases.
- SUT exception handling: Resolved a SUT-related exception in LoadGen Director.
- Agent visibility reliability: Fixed an issue where agent visibility in Director was not displayed correctly.
- Clock handling during gpupdate: Resolved an issue where the Director clock could hang while a gpupdate /force process was running.
- Copied canvas behavior: Fixed an issue where copied canvases did not allow agents to be moved back to available.
- Core Agent service execution: Added support-related improvements for running the LoadGen Core Agent as a Windows Service in headless scenarios where no interactive user session is required.
LoadGen Agent
- C# script handling: Improved handling of C# scripts in the LoadGen Core Agent.
- Local Runner foreground behavior: Fixed issues with Move and Resize Foreground actions in the Local Runner.
- Platform session reporting: The Core Agent now sends Session_Id and Test_Id back to the platform API, improving traceability between agent execution and platform results.
- Monitoring Platform support: Added support for the Monitoring Platform in LoadGen Agents.
- Core Agent ping endpoint: Fixed a bug in the Core Agent ping request endpoint.
- Core Agent C# support: Resolved an issue where the Core Agent did not correctly support C# execution.
- Certificate handling: Added ignore-certificate-errors support to the Core Agent to improve compatibility in environments using self-signed or non-standard certificates.
LoadGen Studio
- Foreground window special characters: Fixed an issue where foreground window handling could fail when special characters were used.
- OCR large-resolution detection: Improved OCR area detection on large screen resolutions.
- Block name refresh: Improved block name refresh behavior in Studio.
- Edge WebTesting: Enabled and improved Microsoft Edge WebTesting support.
- WebRecorder text input: Fixed an issue where the WebRecorder did not correctly record typed text.
- App/Block Buffer limit: Improved the App/Block Buffer action behavior when creating or adding buffer actions.
- OCR validation mouse click: Fixed an issue where the call-to-action mouse click in OCR validation did not work correctly.
- CEFCache cleanup: Fixed cleanup behavior for CEFCache folders.
- Foreground Window Control validation: Resolved an issue where controls could not be found during Foreground Window Control validation.
- C# WebTesting workload stability: Fixed an issue in C# workload execution for WebTesting.

- App and Workload Exchange import: Resolved an exception when importing apps and workloads from the exchange.
- Studio crash stability: Fixed a hard crash in LoadGen Studio.
We encourage all users to update to the latest release to benefit from these improvements.
