Manage test users and variables

Manage test users and variables

Mode: the create and edit controls described on this page are shown in Expert mode (sidebar footer toggle Mode: Basic / Expert). In Basic mode the page shows only Refresh.

Overview

Use the User Pool page to manage test users for VDI and Web workloads. Use Add User for a single user, Bulk Import for multiple users, and Global Variables for values that agents can use during test execution.

Before you begin

  • Testing module is licensed.

  • Have the usernames, passwords, and domains ready before adding users.

  • Know which values should be shared as global variables during test execution.

  • If your passwords live in a CyberArk vault, the Add User dialog can retrieve them (Use CyberArk: "Retrieve credentials from CyberArk vault").

Steps

Step 1

Open Users from Configuration. On the User Pool page, use the VDI users or Web users tab, search field, Refresh, Bulk Import, and Add User controls to review the current user list. Manage test users and variables - step 1 Manage test users and variables - step 1 detail

Step 2

Click Add User. Enter Username, enter Domain if needed, choose whether to use Use CyberArk, enter Password for local credentials, then click Add User to save or Cancel to close. VDI users carry full authentication credentials and domain information; Web users only need usernames. Manage test users and variables - step 2 Manage test users and variables - step 2 detail

Step 3

Click Bulk Import. In Bulk Import Users, keep CSV Import selected, enter one user per line in User Data (CSV) using username, password, domain, then click Import Users when the count is correct. Manage test users and variables - step 3 Manage test users and variables - step 3 detail

Step 4

Open Variables from Configuration. On Global Variables, review existing variables, use Search Variable to filter, and use Refresh, Clear All, Add Variable, edit, or delete as needed.

Manage test users and variables - step 4 Manage test users and variables - step 4 detail

Step 5

Click Add Variable. Enter Variable Name and Value, then click Add to save or Cancel to close. Manage test users and variables - step 5 Manage test users and variables - step 5 detail

Verify the result

Confirm the Users table shows the expected users with the correct domain, profile bindings, and authentication type. Confirm the Global Variables table shows the expected variable name and value.

Troubleshooting

  • If Add User highlights Username, enter a username before saving.
  • If a VDI user needs domain credentials, enter the Domain value and Password or enable Use CyberArk as required.
  • If Bulk Import shows Import 0 Users, check that User Data (CSV) has one valid user per line and does not only contain comments or blank lines.
  • If a variable cannot be saved, make sure Variable Name is filled in.
  • If a variable name already exists, edit the existing variable or choose a different Variable Name.
