Create and run a load test
Overview
Use Run Test to start a load test from a configured Load Profile. If the page shows Unlock Load & Performance Testing with Module LG050, activate the license before you can select a profile or start a test.
LG050 is the base platform module, shown on Infrastructure: Licensing as API Base and licensed per user (250 users on the demo appliance); Load & Performance Testing runs under it, which is why the Run Test page names LG050 when it is missing. Test scheduling is a separate module, LG053 (Testing Scheduling).
Before you begin
- Testing module is licensed.
- At least one load profile is configured. See the task guide "Configure load profiles" and Testing: Load Profiles.
- You are signed in as a user who can run tests.
Steps
Step 1
In the left navigation, click Run Test. The Run Test item is selected. If you see the Module LG050 activation panel instead of run controls, click Activate License before continuing.
Step 2
On Run Test, select a value in Load Profile. Choose Start Mode, then enter a test name and description if needed. Click Start Test when the button is available.
Step 3
In the left navigation, click Active Test. Use this view to check whether a test is running and to pause, resume, stop, or inspect the active test when those controls are shown.
Step 4
In the left navigation, click Schedules. The Test Schedules page opens. If no schedules exist, use New Schedule or Create First Schedule to create a recurring test run.
Verify the result
After starting the test, open Active Test and confirm the active run is shown. If Active Test shows an activation panel or No Test Running, the test did not start.
Troubleshooting
- If Run Test shows Unlock Load & Performance Testing, activate Module LG050 before trying to start a load test.
- If no Load Profile selector is available, confirm that at least one load profile exists under Load Profiles.
- If Start Test is not visible, the page is not in a runnable state. Resolve the license or profile issue shown on the page first.
- If Active Test shows No Test Running after you started a test, return to Run Test and check for a start failure message.
- If scheduling shows a license message, activate the scheduling license module before creating recurring test runs.
