We are proud to announce the Q3 2026 release of LoadGen!

This release focuses on modernizing the LoadGen technology stack, improving Platform mode and WebTesting, strengthening Citrix StoreFront support, and resolving several stability issues across the LoadGen Suite.

A major technical change in this release is the upgrade of LoadGen components from .NET 8 to .NET 10, keeping the platform aligned with the latest supported Microsoft technology stack. We have also continued to improve the interaction between LoadGen Studio, LoadGen Agents, and the LoadGen Platform, while addressing issues found during long-running and complex test scenarios.

LoadGen General

  • Upgrade to .NET 10: LoadGen components using .NET 8 have been upgraded to .NET 10, providing a modern foundation for future development, compatibility, and platform improvements.
  • New workload creation in Studio: Improved the workflow for creating a new workload directly from LoadGen Studio. Users are no longer dependent on activating an existing Appliance profile before they can start creating a workload.

LoadGen Agent

  • Omnissa Horizon client compatibility: Updated the LoadGen Agent to account for the obsolete vmware-view.exe executable and improve compatibility with current Omnissa Horizon client implementations.
  • LoadGen Cloud Agent Azure authentication: Resolved an issue where an expired Azure App Secret could prevent the LoadGen Cloud Agent from authenticating correctly.
  • Core Agent reset stability: Fixed a NullReferenceException that could occur when the Core Agent received a ResetAgent packet shortly after startup.
  • Logoff permissions handling: Resolved an exception that could occur when a logoff action was requested without sufficient user permissions.
  • UserType processing during long-running tests: Fixed an issue where the Agent could unexpectedly report that a UserType could not be found during a long-running test.

LoadGen Director

  • Group Policy update handling: Resolved an issue where the LoadGen Director clock and interface could appear to hang while gpupdate /force was running.

LoadGen Studio

  • Platform API reconnection: Fixed an issue where Studio in Platform mode could not reconnect to the Platform API after the connection had been interrupted.
  • Platform mode user handling: Resolved an issue where Platform mode could display an unexpected error when no users were connected.
  • Platform mode stability: Addressed multiple issues affecting Studio when operating in Platform mode, improving overall reliability and communication with the LoadGen Platform.
  • Start browser when connecting in WebTesting: WebTesting can now automatically start the browser as part of the connection process, simplifying setup and making the recording workflow more intuitive.
  • Encrypted datasource passwords: Password values stored in Studio datasources can now be encrypted, improving the handling of sensitive credentials within workloads.
  • New workload creation guidance: Improved the Studio workflow so users can create a new workload directly without first having to activate an existing Appliance profile.
  • Citrix StoreFront application enumeration: Improved StoreFront application enumeration for environments using different HTTP or HTTPS configurations. The StoreFront communication no longer relies on a hardcoded X-Citrix-IsUsingHTTPS value, improving compatibility with different Citrix deployments.
  • .NET 10 prerequisite validation: Studio now checks for .NET 10 instead of .NET 8, aligning prerequisite validation with the updated LoadGen technology stack.
