Release LoadGen FrontEnd: 1.0.0.12914
LoadGen FrontEnd
- Redesigned Home page - Home opens on a welcome banner that says in one sentence how the platform is doing, with chips for what needs you (open uptime incidents, failed functional runs, Functional Testing engines offline), three quick actions and a health ring per module. Below it, tiles show a chart or a list each: Load Testing, Functional Testing, End-to-End Monitoring, Uptime, Insight, Next 24 hours, runs per day, run outcomes, licence capacity, an uptime status grid, agents online per kind with Refresh, an activity calendar, alerting, and in Expert mode a KPI strip and the recent runs. Every chart has View as table, a period selector offers 24 hours, 7, 14 or 30 days, and the page refreshes while a test runs. Edit layout lets each user order tiles by drag and drop or Move earlier and Move later, size them Small, Wide or Full, add and remove them, and Reset to default; the layout is saved per user, and each role starts from its own default in Simple and Expert mode. Phones show the tiles in one column. An uptime summary without results reads "No results yet", and modules you are not licensed for share one "More in LoadGen" row.
- Change the default password at sign-in - an account that still uses the default password that ships with LoadGen is taken to a change-password screen right after it signs in, and no other page opens until the password is changed. The screen lists the password rules and ticks them off as you type. A locked sign-in shows "Sign-in is locked." with the time it opens again, and the password hints on My Profile and Security > Permissions show the active password policy.
- Offline mode on Settings > Platform - a new Offline mode card beside the AI features card shows whether offline mode is off, on, or locked by the administrator, gives a global admin the switch, and lists what offline mode blocks and what it leaves alone. While it is on, the card reminds you that a cloud licence still needs its monthly refresh and counts the lookups that were skipped, and this Frontend contacts LoadGen's support service (
ticketing.loadgen.cloud) for nothing by itself: support notifications, the LoadGen Tickets history and support actions such as a ticket upload or an appliance image request are skipped with a message that says so. A support bundle can still be downloaded. - Audit log settings and fired-alert notifications - Settings > Audit log sets the audit retention (7 to 3650 days, 30 by default) and a syslog export (collector host, port, UDP or TCP, facility), shows the export's delivery counts and last error, and runs Check integrity, which reports "Chain intact" or the problems it found. A collector on a private address must be on the alerting allow-list, which the tab points to. The tab opens for global admins and roles with full access. Every alert that fires while the platform is open now shows a toast, "Alert fired:" with the alert profile's name, the matched value against its threshold, and a new alert bell in the header keeps the 20 newest firings with a count of unseen ones.
- Test Analysis: the whole score, run statistics and an Events tab - the LoadGen Score panel now also lists the components the run did not measure, greyed out, with their weight and the reason (for example no baseline, no system under test or no hypervisor host). A Run statistics card shows the run's connections, logons, scripts, measurements and applications, successes over failures, and the results modal's Moments tab adds the application counts. The new Events tab lists the run's raw results that are not transactions or measurements: per event type the rows, the users and the first and last time, and a searchable, filterable grid of the rows. It reads up to 20,000 rows per stream and says so when a run has more.
- Software Updates on Windows like on the appliance - Settings > Software Updates now has the appliance's Stable and Nightly channel, the release set list and Specific build, and Update all includes the Functional Testing Agent. A set whose build has no Functional Testing Agent leaves it as it is and says so. Both update pages show tiles for the Citrix add-in and the RDS / AVD / Omnissa add-in, with the package, the target and how many machines are behind, and Update N machines installs the package on them one after another. The update tiles are redrawn: aligned rows, one accent colour for actions, the active and target builds under each other, the archive as a list, and Upload kept as a link for installs that cannot reach the download server.
- Workloads from the LoadGen Exchange in the load profile wizard - the Users & Agents step has a LoadGen Exchange button beside Upload Workload. It asks for your LoadGen Cloud sign-in when there is none, lists the Exchange's workloads for the profile's technology, imports the one you pick, and offers it to the assigned users that have no workload yet. The capacity strip under it is now a Capacity card with a verdict ("All covered", "2 need attention"). The LoadGen Exchange page's filters now sit in one toolbar with Clear filters.
- RDS collection and connect timeout for RDP profiles - the RDP wizard, and an RDP profile started from the technology picker, have a Collection (RD Connection Broker) field under RDP Host: with the broker as RDP Host and a collection named, each user lands on a session host of that collection, and a pasted
loadbalanceinfoline is reduced to the collection name. A Connect timeout (seconds) box sets how long a session may take to connect and log on: empty for 120 seconds, 0 for the agent's own 30 seconds, at most 600. The Review step shows both. - Trusted certificates on a Launcher Appliance - the launcher's Network tab has a Trusted certificates card: upload an internal CA (.pem, .crt or .cer, up to 1 MB) once, and the launcher, its Core Agent's web-test browsers and its Windows guest trust it. The card lists each CA with its subject, thumbprint and expiry (amber within 30 days, red when expired), offers Remove and Sync, and says per target whether the CA was applied, skipped or failed.
- KVM image for the Launcher Appliance - the appliance image request and the launcher setup wizard offer KVM (qcow2) for libvirt, Proxmox and OpenStack hosts, with a hint to unzip the image on the KVM host, run its import script and pass the host CPU through for the Windows guest. The request now says that the download links are mailed to you, and whether that mail carries the image you asked for; for KVM, reply to the mail and LoadGen Support sends the link.
- Omnissa Horizon add-in machines - the add-in machine dialog has a third type, Omnissa Horizon desktop, shown with a Horizon chip on the add-in machines list.
- LoadGen Cloud > Account shows that your LoadGen Cloud sign-in "stays signed in" on the appliance, in every browser and after a restart, until you sign out, instead of an hour-long countdown.
- Removed Test Mode from Run Test and the schedule form: it never limited a run, and a test started with it ran as a normal load test.
- Removed the mail templates from Notification Accounts: alert e-mails never used them, since each alert trigger has its own recipients, subject and body. A hint now links to the alert triggers.
- Removed the phase Timeout Actions from the scenario step, because the Platform does not run them. Timeout actions from a LoadGen Director import are kept.
- Fixed scenario actions set to On Stop, and actions added on the Platform, never running. A new action starts as On Start with Execute File on, a stored action is repaired when you open and save it, and an action that would not run as stored says "Does not run as stored. Edit and save it to repair."
- Fixed the uptime wizard's Enable Alerting switch not being saved. A muted check shows an "Alerts off" badge, and a copy of a muted check is muted too.
- Fixed the backup schedule: Keep the newest N backups (1 to 100, manual and scheduled together) replaces "Keep backups for N days", which had no effect, and switching automatic backups off works.
- Fixed Full Agent install, uninstall, reboot, logon, logoff, lock and unlock showing only "Response status code does not indicate success: 500"; they now name the action, the agent and the reason it failed.
- Fixed the batch Change Slots / Streams dialog setting Session Streams to 1 on every agent. Both fields start empty ("Keep each agent's value"), and only the fields you fill in change.
- Fixed a counter discovery that read nothing showing as success: Browse counters, the Hyper-V Check counters and the template discovery now show the failure with the reason, and the Hyper-V hint names the usual causes and where the agent's own log is. The "(None: use default credentials)" choice on a SUT machine says that counters are then read under the Full Agent's service account, which needs Performance Monitor Users on the machine.
- Fixed the "Migrate legacy credentials" and "Security Configuration Required" prompts coming back after every reload; once closed, they stay closed in that browser tab for that user.
- Fixed Save Changes in the load profile wizards being hidden by the "Session Expiring Soon" notice, which now docks over the bottom of the sidebar. The wizards show "Saving..." from the first click, so a slow save is no longer started once per click.
- Fixed the setup checklist: its steps link to where the setting is, "Regenerate Tokens" with "All tokens" also creates a User Data Secret when the appliance has none, the host name step counts only a name an admin chose, and the hosts-file line shows this appliance's own address and frontend domain instead of a fixed example.
- Fixed the Launcher Appliance overview and setup guide texts: the launcher needs no inbound access from the internet, port 4841 is for Omnissa Horizon and WVD (legacy), port 5050 is HTTP authenticated with the launcher's agent key, and the sizing is at least 2 vCPU, 4 GB and 32 GB for the Core Agent alone and at least 4 vCPU, 16 GB and 150 GB with nested virtualisation for the Windows guest.
- Fixed editing an add-in machine flagged both Citrix and RDS dropping its Citrix flag on save.
- Fixed the LoadGen Exchange import dialog not reading the version list of an older flow such as "LoadGen Simulation".
- Fixed Software Updates tiles cutting off their content, one busy tile pushing the others down, and the add-in tiles ending in an empty block.
- Fixed search boxes drawing their placeholder under the magnifier and some selects and inputs ignoring their width, for example on the LoadGen Exchange, Scenarios, Counter Units and Service Levels pages.
- Fixed every Learn more link on Home's product cards opening a page that does not exist.
- Fixed the Functional Testing run page jumping to its top on narrow screens when the screenshot viewer opens; closing the viewer scrolls back to the step.
- The header on narrow screens, the start-up splash and the licence pages show the LoadGen logo.
- Requires the API from release 1.0.0.12913 or later.
