Mode: the create and edit controls described on this page are shown in Expert mode (sidebar footer toggle Mode: Basic / Expert). In Basic mode the page shows only Refresh.

Overview

Use the Insight pages to review machine groups, start the machine group create wizard, check agent dashboard totals, and locate data health from the dashboard workflow.

Before you begin

  • Insight module is licensed.
  • At least one Insight agent is registered and reporting.

Steps

Step 1

Open Insight Machine Groups. Review the Needs Onboarding section, use Search machine groups to filter groups, and select New Machine Group when you need to add a group. Step 2

In the New Machine Group wizard, start on Basics. Enter a Name, add an optional Description, then select Next. The Name field is required before you can continue to Infrastructure and Monitoring. Step 3

Open Dashboard. Review Total Agents, Active, Offline, Needs Onboarding, Agents by Group, Agent Versions, and All Machines. Use Refresh, Auto, and the 30s interval control to update the view. Step 4

In All Machines, use Search machines and the All Statuses, All Groups, and All Versions filters to find the agent you want to check. Open its Data Health action when the machine row is available. Verify the result

The dashboard shows current Insight agent counts, group and version charts, and the All Machines filter controls. Machine groups and onboarding status are visible from Machine Groups.

Troubleshooting

  • If Next is disabled in the create wizard, enter a value in Name. The wizard shows Name is required until the field is filled.
  • If a new agent is not in a group, check Needs Onboarding on the Machine Groups page and move the machine into a machine group.
  • If the dashboard counts do not match the machine group view, select Refresh or enable Auto refresh and check the selected filters.
  • If you cannot find a machine in All Machines, clear the search text and reset the status, group, and version filters to All.
